In accessing our website, using the information made available on our website, registering for any of our events and webinars, or accessing any of our services, you acknowledge and agree to be bound by the following Terms and Conditions.
The information on this website about our events, webinars and services and any written materials provided to you in the course of the provision of any services (the “Information“) is the property of the Society for Industrial and Organisational Psychology Australia Incorporated (‘SIOPA’).
1 CONFIDENTIALITY and INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
1.1 In consideration for your participation in our events and webinars, and accessing our services, you agree that you will only use the information you receive or access for the sole purpose of participating in any of our events, webinars and services or for use to assist you in your continuing professional development and for no other purpose and you will not reproduce or distribute the Information in whole or in part without our prior written consent.
1.2 During the course of participating in our events and webinars, and accessing our services, you may receive information which we consider to be confidential and proprietary to SIOPA and which will be identified as such to you (“Confidential Information“). You shall not disclose to any person the whole or any part of the Confidential Information nor use any part of the Confidential Information other than for the purposes for which it is disclosed to you and for no other purpose without our prior written consent.
1.3 Each party shall be entitled to disclose any Confidential Information received to the extent it is required to comply with statutory or legal obligations, provided that the party first gives notice to the other party and complies with any reasonable direction of the other party.
1.4 By participating in any of our events and webinars, and accessing services, you agree that you will not acquire any pecuniary or non-pecuniary rights or intellectual property rights in relation to information shared with you and opportunities developed or pursued by other participants to the program that you will engage with.
2 STANDARDS OF BEHAVIOUR
2.1 You shall at all times during your involvement in SIOPA’s events and webinars, and accessing our services, maintain professional standards of behaviour.
3 RESTRICTIONS AND LIMITATIONS
3.1 You acknowledge and agree that neither SIOPA nor its associates are in any way responsible or liable for any conduct of the participants at our events and webinars, and our services including any advice provided by them.
3.2 You should independently consider all information or advice provided to you as part of participation in SIOPA’s events and webinars, and our services, which should not be treated as legal, tax, financial, investment, accounting or other professional advice. To the extent permitted by law we shall not be liable to any participants in our events and webinars, and our services and services for any loss (whether direct, indirect or consequential) or damage suffered by any person relating to or in reliance on any information or advice or any act or commission in connection with participation in any of SIOPA’s events, webinars or services.
4 COMPLIANCE
4.1 You must comply with all applicable laws and regulations in participating in our services and events and webinars, accessing the website and using the Information.
4.2 A participant may be suspended from further participation in SIOPA’s events, webinars and services if they are found to have breached any of these Terms and Conditions.
5 GOVERNING LAW
5.1 These Terms and Conditions and the associated rights and obligations of the parties, shall be governed by the laws of Australia, and the courts of Australia shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute arising from or connected with these Terms and Conditions. To the extent allowed by law, we may bring concurrent proceedings in any number of jurisdictions.
5.2 Without prejudice to the rights of any other person to enforce their rights under these Terms and Conditions, by participating in SIOPA’s events and webinars, or services or using our website, you agree that SIOPA and its associated persons shall have the right to rely on the representations, warranties, undertakings and acknowledgments given by you through your acceptance of these Terms and Conditions, and shall be able to enforce, to the fullest extent permitted by law, the rights given to them pursuant to these Terms and Conditions.
6 GENERAL
6.1 These Terms and Conditions do not derogate from SIOPA’s statutory and common law rights and are in addition to those rights, and not in substitution for them.
